BOOKS (that might be) OF INTEREST TO CNE CANDIDATES:
1) NETWARE TRAINING GUIDE: Vol. I - Managing Netware Systems
2) NETWARE TRAINING GUIDE: Vol. II - Networking Technologies
These books are published by New Riders Press and written
by Debra Niedermiller, a CNE/ECNE/CNI, who wrote these books
for System Administrators who want to become CNE's. The best
description for these books is the synopsis given on the back
of the first volume, which I will copy below:
Prepare yourself for the CNE system manager tests with
this book:
* Study questions help you understand the material and
determine your readiness for the exams.
* Covers the system managers courses.
* Explains the CNE program and certification
requirements.
* Numerous hints and tips for retaining information.
NetWare Training Guide: Managing NetWare Systems, is the
first of two titles that will prepare you to become a
Certified NetWare Engineer (CNE). This first book helps
you prepare for the CNE system management exams by
covering both basic and advanced network management with
the NetWare 2.2 and 3.11. The second book, NetWare
Training Guide: Networking Technologies covers
DOS/Microcomputer concepts, Service and Support, and
Hardware and Networking Technologies. These topics form
the core courses of the CNE testing process. Together,
these titles represent a cost-effective way for you to
become a Certified NetWare Engineer.
Specifically with this book, you're introduced to the CNE
program, certification requirements, and learn what to
expect on the test. You learn about common elements of
NetWare, including security, utilities, printing,
directories and drive mappings, and customizing the
environment. Then, separate sections help you study the
specifics of versions 2.15, 2.2, and 3.11. Each module
consists of clear, instructional materials, exercises,
and self-study questions. This first title also contains
all the information needed to become a Certified NetWare
Administrator (CNA).
Debra Niedermiller is a Certified NetWare Engineer, an
Enterprise CNE, and one of the most experienced Certified
NetWare Instructors available anywhere. She is the
Education Director for Computer Data, Inc. in Madison
Heights, Michigan. Debra has authorized NetWare books,
including Inside Novell NetWare and Inside NetWare Lite.
The books have a cover price of $59.95 each. They are
available from BORDER CROSSINGS for $48.00 which includes
shipping. Pennsylvania residents please add 6% sales tax. If
